We are halfway through the first quarter! For my quarter-long elective classes, that means halfway through the whole thing! Seems impossible to do everything I still want to do in the time that is left! Spanish classes will be holding a Cinco de Mayo (I know....it's October!) fiesta the last week of class. Please note the details on the Spanish link above.
Art classes have shifted from Asian Art to Africa. We have three more projects planned based on African art. I HOPE to sneak a quick SW Indian Petroglyph project in, but we may just run out of time!

By the end of the quarter, Computers 1 should be finishing up the Microsoft Word book. We will explore Cyber Internet Safety and PowerPoint the second half of the semester. Computers 2 will finish with Excel and move on to Internet Research and Ethics, as well as a short look at Microsoft Publisher.
I sent home a progress report with every student. Since some of them ended up in the garbage, left on the tables, or abandoned, I realize some parents may never see them. My policy is to NOT make multiple copies unless the parent themselves request it in an email or phone call. A parent signature on the progress report is a graded assignment, however! If you have access to the PASS system, you can also sign a printout from there. I encourage you to discuss your child's grade with them! The majority of the time, poor grades are due to a failure to turn in work.
I welcome your comments and input. Please - send me a message. I truly wonder if ANYONE is reading this!
